Crocheted Tree Skirt
Crocheted Tree Skirt. Pattern from Lion Brand Yarns (Click below for link).
This is a beautiful tree skirt that I made for my mother for Christmas this year. I had originally intended to make it and gift it last year but my procrastination got the better of me. This year I was just as bad but I finished it in the nick of time at 11am on Christmas Eve. I got the pattern from the Lion Brand Yarn website, it's a free pattern (check the link below). It's made with a beautifully soft and fluffy Lion Brand Yarn called Holiday Homespun. The yarn has a beautiful gold thread that runs through the yarn and makes for an extra special and festive glittery tree skirt. I omitted the cords woven throughout the blocks as the pattern calls for... I thought it looked better plain and I was short on time. The only things I will say is that this yarn is a little difficult to work with if you've never used it or aren't used to it and the tree skirt was on the smaller side. The size issue can easily be remedied by adding another row of blocks or by using a larger hook. My mother usually gets a small tree anyway so I wasn't as worried about the size. As a side note, I also didn't block my pieces so the edges aren't as defined as they would be if you did block them. There is a tutorial on blocking on my Crochet Pinterest board. Let me know if you try this project for yourself. I'd love to see the pictures! Good Luck! Happy Holidays!
